Earrings are the ultimate accessory if you live a somewhat home-based lifestyle. Here are my top picks for Fall 2018.
I’m a total weirdo. I just got my ears pierced two weeks ago… at age 39. After my four-year-old. To be fair, I did have them pierced when I was a kid but they closed up long ago so it feels like the very first time (sing along, people, you know the song!). Anyway…
I used to have an obsession with long necklaces and never bothered with the earring thing because it felt like overkill. But my kids and dogs also had an obsession with (my) long necklaces and snapped every. single. one. of. them. Le sigh… Bracelets and rings get in the way when I work around the house and at the computer, so when I’m not really seeing anybody for most of the day accessorizing seems useless. Unfortunately, I started to feel a little plain Jane without my killer heels and funky necklaces to dress up my fairly minimalist style.
So when I brought Josie to get her ears pierced it dawned on me that earrings are just the ticket. They don’t get in the way, shorter creatures (furry or otherwise) can’t easily reach them, and I get to look a little fancy pants again. I change out the starter studs in just a few short weeks and I’ve been combing the interwebs for the perfect earring wardrobe for fall. I thought a quick little round-up might be fun to share. Enjoy!
I love number 1 for its combination of simplicity and impact. These babies are HUGE. The green is perfect for my personal palette but these earrings come in a crazy amount of colors and textures. Nickel and Suede also makes a bunch of other shapes including ear cuffs. Plus they are reportedly super lightweight and nickel-free so I’m thinking they will be a perfect starter earring for a noob like me.
2 and 3 are a no-brainer for me because hello, Madewell! My all-time fav. I love the studs for a day I want to go subtle but sneaky fun, and the danglies are cool for the splash of color and the volume they add. I’m thinking t-shirt, jeans, statement earrings, and bitchin’ leopard flats or booties.
Number 4 feels cool and edgy without needing to flaunt it. I like the organic texture with that green (again). Tiny amount of bling. Heaven.
I think 5 is a great date night earring. It’s large and in charge with a beautiful graphic silhouette. The colors won’t detract from a slinky dress but will elevate a cami and jeans. Super versatile.
I am just dipping my toe into the wonderful world of earrings. Do you have any favs? Any shops that everyone needs to check out right this second? Share your must-haves in the comments!
