Hey guys it’s that time again. Here are five things that happened this week that I wanted to share with you all!
Before we get to the good stuff, I want you to be aware that I sometimes use affiliate links in my posts. I may receive a small commission if you choose to purchase through those links but it is never at any additional cost to you and I only recommend products I would use in my own home. Thanks for supporting Bloom in the Black!
Amazing Cabinet Pulls
Holy cow, I have found the mother of all cabinet pulls. I am looking for long brass handles for the pantry cabinet we are having built and I stumbled upon these beauties. They only work with a recessed door, so a no go for the pantry. But damn, if I’m not going to find SOMEWHERE to use these.
This Week’s ORC Favs
Week 2 of the One Room Challenge and things are already heating up! Here are three updates that I am loving this week:
- Jewel over at Jeweled Interiors is doing amazing things with moulding this week. She gives some awesome tips for using trim to make your ceilings look taller.
- Tricia over at Simplicity in the South is working her fingers to the bone (almost literally) to create this stunning black and white hex tile pattern for her pantry floor.
- Celine over at Aquahaus is creating a modern Baverian kitchen. Whaaaaat?? And the cabinet color is killer.
IKEA Does It Again
IKEA just launched a bunch of new furniture and this stool needs to make it’s way over to my house. I saw these in a photo and thought they must be seriously expensive. Nope. Less than $25.
Good Parenting Read
I’ve followed Brittany’s blog for years and years — ever since I was pregnant with Annabelle and she with Hailey. If you like practical, non-judgmental, and approachable parenting advice served with a side of healthy recipes, you should check her out! I just read her post on 10 ways to strengthen the sibling bond and really enjoyed it.
Your Local Hardware Store
Do you usually default to ordering stuff off Amazon or running down to Home Depot? Yeah, me too. And for some things, that makes total sense! But today I was hanging my new light fixture and realized I was out of wire caps.
I want this beautiful thing hung yesterday, so I ran down to the hardware store on Main Street and was reminded how NICE it is to go to a small, well-run store that has just what you need, and no more. With friendly knowledgable staff who can actually help you rather than just look panicked and confused when you ask them a question.
I just wanted to gently encourage you to visit your local small businesses when you can. They need our support and honestly, they deserve it!
That’s all for now. Have you found anything great this week? I would love to hear about it! Share in the comments below or over on Instagram.
Otherwise, have a fabulous weekend 😀
