The 7 Best Narrow Nightstands for a Small Bedroom
Our guestroom is TINY. And since we have grandparents who come stay in it for a week or more at a time, we have no choice but to squeeze a queen bed in there. This leads to the issue of needing very narrow nightstands. For now, we have a couple of spare counter stools we’re using as stand-ins, but the time has come to search for a more permanent solution.
Do you have a small bedroom too? Then this round-up is for you!
In this post, I’m sharing my 7 favorite narrow nightstands for small spaces, and all of them are under 16″ wide.

Midcentury Modern Tiny Nightstand With Drawer (15.7″)
I adore this sleek MCM nightstand. It’s a tad too wide for my guest room, but at 15.7″ wide, this is still a very small nightstand and it’s only 11″ deep. I’m especially impressed with the storage and function packed into this one (hello charging station!). Try this style to offset a super frilly bed or to complement a masculine bed set in deep linen.
Round Natural Wood Narrow Nightstand (14″)
This round nightstand is especially cool not only because it’s beautifully sleek with open shelving to style in fun ways, but because the base is round a well. If you prefer a more streamlined look? Turn it around and it looks like a smooth cylinder. At only 14″ this small bedside table should fit into most small spaces.
HOW TALL SHOULD A NIGHTSTAND BE?
Since beds come in all different sizes, there’s no standard height for a nightstand and you’re afforded some flexibility. Generally speaking, your nightstand should be level with the top of your mattress, but you can deviate as much as 6″ higher or lower and still find that it’s a comfortable height.
Narrow Midcentury Nightstand With Two Drawers (16″)
This small nightstand packs a lot of function into a small space! If you’re a fan of midcentury styling, white with wood, and have space for a 16″ nightstand, this would be a great choice for your small bedroom.
Very Narrow Oblong Bedside Table (9.75″)
Are you working with a really tiny bedroom? This very narrow oblong bedside table might just be your new best friend! It’s pretty affordable, and the shape is interesting enough to draw attention from the more economical laminate top it sports. Plus, it has a wire mesh magazine rack for middle-of-the-night reading material!
Small Round Bedside Table (16″)
The funky shape of this small modern nightstand is so neat! I love the modern sculptural pedestal base. You could bring this out to the living room when you have guests to use as an extra side table when you need it too. Small spaces require furniture to pull double duty.
Very Narrow Nightstand With Open Shelving (10″)
This modern mixed-material nightstand is positively tiny! At only 10″ wide, there’s no bedroom too small to fit this modern bedside table. Even though it’s very small, it still has some storage, with two levels of open shelves. Keep reading material on the bottom and your glasses on top!
Narrow Fluted Nightstand (13″)
Actually, it’s a tie between the last nightstand and this stunning fluted bedside table for our small guest room. I might be able to squeeze it in — it’s only 13″ diameter! This is such a high-end look for under $150.
